Avatars of War have released their Warriors of Apoc that are basically "Chaos Warriors". They can come either with Hand Weapon + Shield, 2 Hand Weapons, Halberds and Great Weapons. The latter 2 somewhat almost impossible to get for a GW Chaos Warrior model.

Avatars of War did some nice Dwarf Slayers, I didn't get any because I don't rate slayers very highly. However it's nice to see them bringing out more nice fantasy units.

Gathilnir (Might and Magic), Fire'AtWill (FTGG) and Zaag Blitz (E,UD)
Not sure how :P
If thats how we are ranking tooliness then you're a Nemesis Force Tool. :P

Avatars of War is really skirting the boundaries of decency with their GW-inspired models, but those are some freaking sexy Chaos Warriors. I'm a big fan of their Slayer kit as well, not to mention their gorgeous characters.

Their prices are also very reasonable. The Slayer kit is substantially cheaper than buying metal GW Slayers.

In all honesty, a goblin is a goblin, human is a human, dwarf is a dwarf.etc and that is across the 'fantasy spectrum' so long as  a company doesn't use a trademarked design or logo, its open game. And for us, more choices and ranges, means better value for money for us.

You can't copyright platemail, or horned helms, or spiky iconography. Strictly speaking, they probably can't copyright the eight pointed star either, since I'm pretty sure that predates GW by a loooong way.
I wrote a novel - Dreamscape: The Wanderer.. Available in paperback and pdf. Support a starving student. :P

Seeing as Ian miller (I think...) made the Slaaneshi icon I doubt that there is much originality in their icons :P

Doubly so with their races - they are a collection of stereotypes given a little flair.

Yeah, the Chaos Star is originally from Moorcock's Elric series. As popular and well regarded as those books are, I'm kind of surprised nobody's tried to take GW on about it yet.
Often I hear delusional ramble like "I painted and collected my army as ultramarine tyranid hunters....but Pedro is really good, so now I'm using him, but I'm just going to call him Jimbob-Fistpumper, cause that fits with my fluff". It all just seems a means to an end.

Those Chaos warriors are damn sexy, better even I'd say, than the GW ones :) - they'd certainly fit the bill of chosen very very nicely.

They're selling four different weapon choices; which is the best value from a gameplay perspective in the current edition of WHFB?

Just sort of curious.

Depends on the Chaos Mark you chosen for them; Mark of Khorne would want 2 Hand Weapons, Mark of Tzeentch would want Hand Weapon and Shield, while I see Halberds being another viable option as well.
