Anglerfish Conversion Mk I.I
« on: July 13, 2010, 10:26:11 AM »

SGS's post reminded me of the same conversion I did a while ago after seeing GreyDeath's original conversion.

This conversion requires two kits. The Devilfish chassis and a 1:48 Scale Apache or Commanche kit. It requires you to cat the main Devilfish floor in half and flip it over giving the natural angle. Then the next major cut is to cut out the cockpit of the Devilfish hull. The next step is to construct the rear bay out of plasticard and to insert the Apache/Commanche cockpit where the Devilfish one was . Finally to fill in all the gaps.

I managed to add the rear hatch of the Devilfish to my conversion, and added the skyray wings to the rear cargo bay. This enables me to add the skyray markerlight pieces, and add seeker missiles and Smart missile pods to the pylons under the skyray wing.

Here are the pictures of my conversion. I have added the pre and post painted pictures so you can see what parts are GW and what are made by me.

This is for my Pathfinders. Rapid insertion behind enemy lines and armed to the teeth for those tight situations. This is a count-as Warfish with Seekers. The Markerlight bits on the wing tips are purely decorations. Its footprint is the same as a Devilfish too, which surprised me.

I like it, it looks awesome.

I also like the subtle camo.
