Enemies of the Imperium / Re: Flesh hounds of Khorne???
« on: May 16, 2013, 10:20:04 PM »
I agree with you, with better options out there flesh hounds have been phased out of my Khornate daemons list. Karanak is decent in a unit of Bloodcrushers.

But yes, they seem to be tie up unit. But hell chaos furies can do that job cheaper

I have the same problem, i using the wap2 forums. If someone can change the theme for me on my profile that would be great

I agree with most of the OPs opinions, but i think Kharn has a better chance of getting his points back. Typhus does let you have plague marines are troops and plauge zombies, but Kharn gets you Berzerkers has troop which isn't a bad alternative. Kharn can also take out tanks with relative ease. He is also a steal at only 160pts. If hes not the best choice, he comes in a close 2nd. Of course i might be bias.

1. Now the Daemon Prince for marines is very high cost, but it can get biomancy powers. Which means if you upgrade to level 2 it can get some really cool powers. If you hit 3 the chances of getting powers like iron arm turns into a 50% chance. Although expensive you can have a prince on average with toughness 7 at a 50% chance of doing so. Also if you take the axe it becomes a str 8 creature with only -1 to it's really high ws.

Yeah, i have notice that the Iron arm is great on monstrous creatures, I have been doing it with my hive tyrants and it makes them tough as nails. also to note, that if you take the axe of blind fury, you have to take the mark of khorne, which means no psyker powers

I was going to say much the same; the Sigil of Corruption is an optional upgrade, not something you get just for being a Chaos Lord.

Having played since early-mid Third Edition, I do not like letting Iron Warriors have four Heavy Support choices. It was a stupid idea when GW did it, and I still don't think it's particularly well balanced now.
Yeah i understand that reaction, but there isn't a special rule that screams siege specialist that's useful. I guess i could make it a bit more restrictive. Something like, "  In a primary detachment that includes Honsou, one maulerfiend does not count towards a heavy support choice" and "Warpsmiths get to re roll Master of Mechanisms rolls"

What they did back in the day was make you drop 2 fast attack for that extra HS. That did not balance it as fast attack was poor then and HS was great. If you do that now it will easily balance your character because FA is by FAR the best choice in the chaos codex.

That might work too

Well i thought stacking feel no pain and 4+ invul save might be over doing it (something have only abaddon has). Also not every lord has Sigil of Corruption, Kharn, Ahriman, Lucius and Bile don't. Hell, Typhus and Abaddon don't have them either and Bile doesn't even have an invul save at all

A few more touch ups on Zso Sahaal were made. Next is the Iron Warriors character. Out of all the of the Iron Warrior character (and there is a ton of them) I think Honsou had the most complete fuff around him. Although i was tempted to make Chengrel (a chaos dreadnaught). Maybe another day.

I guess that's fair, I thought it would be off set by the Without Faith rule. I guess i could change it that units could buy Stealth at a cost. Maybe 25pts per unit(like an icon) or 5pts a model (like a mark)

So I thought i could make traitor character for the legions that don't have them (Night Lords, Iron Warriors, Word Bearers Alpha Legion). So first i'm going to take a stab at the Night Lords. More will come later.

So more stuff came in my mail box today....Traitor Guard

the renegade militia conversation pack is great to look at. Each guy looks different enough, they are full of character. The pain is dealing with super glue and the many parts that you have to attach to the resin torso. My fingers will never be the same.

Death from Above!

Yup, my heldrake came home today. Surprisingly a easy build. The model has grown on me, the first time a saw it i didn't like it. I still don't like the caboose. Hopefully he'll get painted next weekend.

Hmmm i guess that would change things, I guess i could take the Overlord/cryptek combo to guard my berzerkers

Enemies of the Imperium Army Lists / Khornate Night Assault 1500pts
« on: January 13, 2013, 09:49:23 AM »
Ok so i got this idea from somewhere, of using Necrons with an assault army. Basically since couple of the Necron characters can change the game into nightfight rules, and this helps assault armies, so i can up with this list.

CHAOS
Kharn
1X8 Khorne Berzerkers with Aspiring Champion with Powerfist. All are mounted in a Rhino with Dirge Caster and extra armour
1X8 KHorne Berzerkers with Aspiring Chmapion with Powerfist. All have Veterans of the Long War.  All are mounted in a Rhino with Dirge Caster and extra armour
Heldrake with baleflamer

NECRONS
Imotekh the Storm Lord
10 Necron Warriors mounted in a Night Scythe
10 Necron Warriors mounted in a Night Scythe

ARMY TOTAL: 1497pts

So Imotekh cause nightfight, which basically give the transports the cover of darkness to get where they need to be.  Now there are a few options. The first one would be to sub out one of the warrior squads with more berzerkers. More assault power for less shooting power. Option number 2 would be to replace Imotekh with an Overlord and Cryptek with solar pulse. The Overlord/Cryptek combo is cheaper than the storm lord, but i would only get nightfight for one turn.

So what do you all think?
