I acctualy really like the storm tallon. its a great little model and i like tbe design. Yes we all know that GW have made it so that marines can have a flier as that is clearly going to be the next dimension of the game and yes we could say its GWs way of making more money but if we never got new stuff we would all get bored with it. Wargamer is ridiculus in his atritude to anything remotley new and so i say if you have nothing productive to add then just dont. GW have pinned themself down with the fluff somwhat and this needs to addapt and grow for our belovid game to do the same. yes the storm tallon is new, but i think its cool and it fits the space marines well so its ok by me.

I will do some more reading. However i think that what i am saying holds water. as both the lucius  and regular drop pod now have the same special rule they must surly work the same way.

That is incorrect. if you refer to the rules for the lucius pattern drop pod it states the turn it arrives from deepsrike states that the drop pod is an assult vehice and a model within it my assult the turn it arives from deepstrike. now with these new rules the regular drop pod now also has the assult vehicle special rule so surley they are the same?

Little buff i have noticed. you can now assult out of a drop pod as it has the assult vehicle special rule.

To be hinest, a ton of arty is far more appealing to me. A large combined squad and FRFSRF can spam alot to death and can also act as a massive wound bubble, to shield other things.
3 Arty squadron can also be very painful, whether your going for griffons to keep things moving, or Medusas to wreck tanks.

Air cav is still very cool though and when pulled off effectivly can be incredibly nasty to face.

i have to agree here. i dont leave home without a shed load of artillery. call me old fashioned but i love my three basalisks, all my guard lists have them. i also find the manticore is a very usefull and ejouable tool and makes light work of most infantry.

on the air cav front this can be great fun using paratrropers esentialy however if you draw from history you will see it is unwise to rely on paras alone to do the job. they need support. i find the most enjoyable tactic for me is blitzkrieg. you have a para element in valks or vendettas to outflank right into thier lines and support them with artillery and mechaniaed infantry. not forgetting the tanks. this is a very strong formation that works very well and is great fun to play and challenging to play against.
