Happy chocolate day everyone, hope you've all made yourselves sick by now!

Got some ships recently that I've decided to put onto bases rather than leave "free-floating", as it were. I think that I should model on a bow wave to finish it off but I have no idea how to do it. Google, for once, has failed me; what I get back are equations and physics to construct the mathematical models of bow waves - interesting (and head spinning!) but not the right type of modelling!

So, chaps and chapesses of SS (hmm, how appropriate for a naval question!) - any tips?

Hmm...
Its something I've wanted to do for a while...

Perhaps look into Decorators Cork. Do a line of it along the prow and then fiddle with it to how you want it... It would be semi flexible once set (Kind of like green stuff)...
Failing that, try PVA glue and clingfilm or Papermache?

well, for what it's worth I did find some advice eventually. Sadly it's all stuff you're meant to do BEFORE you base them, so that's me stuffed ;D

I'll mess about with PVA or something and I will, of course, post the results and any tips I find while doing it, but for info here's what others have done:

I wish I'd tried looking BEFORE I stuck the damned things down now!!!
