Title: Nobody expects the Interior Decorators
Post by: Cammerz on February 14, 2020, 12:05:30 AM
I have been working on the centre-piece for my 500pt Ordo Hereticus force, a Land Raider Prometheus from Forge World.

Unlike most of my previous tanks, I have decided to go all out on this one with a fully detailed interior and opening doors.
I found a tutorial online showing how to use paperclips and magnets for the side doors and a friend gave me the transfer sheet from the new Adepta Sororitas army box.

I have fully constructed the Prometheus, which I have named 'The Chapel' and am in the process of weathering it. For now, here are the interior shots.

I have used a total of 33 transfers, mostly Sororitas, which perfectly matches the power level of the army list. Most of them aren't too easy to see within the fully constricted tank and the fleur-de-lys on the roof is entirely obscured but at least I still have these images.

The statue of St Lucia within the shrine is actually a High Elf charioteer from Warmaster (sanded down slightly to fit) and is probably the detail I'm most happy with.

I'll post the pictures of the fully-constructed model when I've finished with it, along with the Inquisitor and his retinue.

And here we go, The Chapel is complete.

I'll admit now that I had a few issues putting it all together, the front ramp won't close properly and I managed to get some superglue into the hinge on one side, it will open and close but I fear it's only a matter of time before something snaps. In addition the hull didn't fully go together properly but I'd put too much on to go back and fix it so there are some gaps which shouldn't be there.

But never mind, we learn from our mistakes and proceed regardless, here she is;

The side hatches are hinged using pieces of paperclip and held in by 1x1mm rare earth magnets. The mesh on the inside is just simple aluminium mesh used to repair walls, a friend gave me the idea after he used some for scenery.

And now for the rest of the force, these Acolytes are made with Forge World Cadians in Hostile Environment gear and the greatcoat legs from the Company Command Squad (I scoured bitz sites and ebay to make sure I had enough).

I found a piece of wargear in the old Inquisitor specialist game called Reflec Armour, it was an upgrade to regular armour which made them better against las weaponry. I created the reflective quality by layering the silvers from Leadbelcher up to Stormhost and then covered it in 'Ard Coat.

And now the boss himself, Inquisitor Gideon Lorr of the Ordo Hereticus. The old fluff for him which I dug out of WD304 back in April '05 stated that he had three henchmen, all Guard veterans in carapace armour with shotguns whom he would dispose of ruthlessly when he had no more use for them. My view is that, with the Psychic Awakening, he could use all the help he can get.

Want an honest opinion, great weathering and mud and about time i see someone do heated metal right its very top notch, however you used too much of a single color and  too many light colors it kinds blurs together.

If i did this id make the coats more of a darker brown (using washes), done the plasma effects differently  probs blue or why not red, tried to incorporate bronze and gold as a secondary color and for the skulls, pinch points, interior doors and some of the consoles/devices.

thats all i can think of as i am rediscovering this forum
