Heavy Infantry are the Specialised troopers, and are often only available in smaller numbers then Light Infantry. They have the pick of equipment, or sometimes, are Heavy Infantry just becuase of their size.

Dates:
- Entries can be submitted via a PM to Narric (Me) from March 3rd until April 20th.
- Voting will take place from April 21st until April 29th.
- Winners shall be announced on April 30th.

Prizes:
1st Place = Dice

Along with Physical prizes, Award Seals will also be granted to the Top 3 Entrants.

And here is a picture of the Custom Second Sphere Dice up for grabs;

Rules:
- A model/unit of Heavy may not be or include a Named character
- The Unit must be Game-legal. This includes any Transports that the unit would normally be assigned.
- Up to Three Picture may be submit. You are limited to 800 x 600 pixels for picture dimensions.
- Depending on numbers, Voting may be split in Master and Novice tiers. This is decided by a panel of Judges, not a single person.
- All Models must be fully Painted.

For the purposes of this Contest, Heavy Infantry are classed as:
- Any Warhammer 40k Elites Choice or Heavy Support choice, with the Unit Type "Infantry" only.
- Any unit with a 4+ or better Armour Save in Warhammer Fantasy
- Models from other games systems will be decided upon Me (Narric) recieving them via PM (you do have the right to challenge the decision).

Good luck to everyone who is planning on entering. :D

If you feel the rules are too restrictive, do please write a reply to point it out.

Hmm, Student Nationals deadline has failed to motivate me to paint so far, so hopefully this will...

Are Harlequins allowed by the way? I know they classify as elites, but they're quite the opposite of 'heavy'  ;)

Narric

There is always one, isn't there :P

I think it would be fair to say most Eldar units would not be Heavy Infantry. Maybe Dark Reapers and Warp Spiders. I am of course only referring to the Craftworld Eldar ;)

Tom

Wraithguard and Wraithblades would also count. Last year's contest had the condition that the unit needed a 3+ armour save or better and I think that's not a bad general guide too.

I'm going to avoid entering the warp spiders I recently finished into this comp and try and finish a small squad of some serious heavy infantry instead.

Sent you a PM instead of posting it here.

...and whipped cream, a bottle of baileys, seven pairs of non-matching shoes, a combine harvester, a box of matches, and three indie rock bands drunk off their skull is technically acceptable on private property.

Still plenty o' time to enter this contest ;)

If we're not going by last year's rule regarding 3+ armour saves, I'm guessing that Stormtroopers (whoops sorry, I mean Tempestus Scions ::)) would be admissible? If so, I'll see about hopefully getting a squad of em painted up before the deadline.
