Hey guys.

We 're not going to deny that the crash and subsequent reboot of the forum didn't throw Contests HQ for a bit of a spin.  But we're going to try and do our best to make up for it, by going back to our roots and doing our five most popular contests.  That's right, starting from... well...  last month, we're doing our five core contests.  The Troops contest is well under way, but starting soon we're going to be launching the other four Force Organisation slot contests.

"But MT," I hear you all cry, "You already did HQ and Elites this year."  Yeah, yeah, we know.  But to try and give the renewed Second Sphere a boost, we're going to redo those contests, to give everyone more chances to win the coveted Second Sphere dice   ;D  This, in no way, invalidates the previous 2012 contest winners of HQ and Elites; there'll just be two sets of winners in each of those categories this year.

As it stands, the calendar for contests looks as follows:

MonthContest 1Contest 2
JuneTroops (now voting)
JulyTroops (now voting)HQ (redo)
AugustElites (redo)HQ (redo)
SeptemberElites (redo)Fast Attack
OctoberHeavy SupportFast Attack
NovemberHeavy Support

We apologise to any and all members who entered into contests running at the time of the crash.  It seems highly unlikely that we can retrieve your entries.  If you have records of them, keep hold of them and re-enter them when the contests come around again (we won't count them as having been entered into a past contest).  We're very sorry, but it's the only thing we can do.

Keep an eye out for the HQ rules thread; it'll be up soon.
Regards,
MT.

Although, given that you're in Japan now, I suppose that's entirely legit. :shifty:

Possibly! Your memory is better than mine for sure  :derp:
There is a gap in November for another contest, perhaps for ... Fantasy?

kingofmonkeys

Keen for a Specialist Games comp if there's space for it in the schedule? I have Epic, Bloodbowl and Necromunda minis in bulk nowadays...

Aye I got blood bowl and BFG!

Masked Thespian

How would people feel if the November contest was an "Open" contest, where you could enter miniatures from any game system you wanted?

I'd be fine with an Open competition but it would also be easy to bring back competition on demand to sort this sort of thing out. I mean I'd love to see a specialist competition but not if the only entrants are Tempest and Unholy... so why don't we have a poll to see what more people would like to see and enter?

Edit: Further to the above I'd like to see a competition for whole armies. Set a point limit or something so that it's not entirely about quantity over quality and wait for the armies to come out of the woodwork, I don't think I've seen too many whole-army shots around the place.

Yeah that would be good MT- an "Open", ie enter a single mini or unit (maybe say as long as its not 40K or Fantasy?)- and opening it to no GW minis would be great.

So yeah, that would be good for November if it can work that way.

Scout Sergeant Mkoll

Out of interest, do you guys still need the quiz I was put in charge of a while back?

I have a few questions drafted up but I was never given a set date for it so I figured there was no rush. If you like I should be able to get it finished in time to be the second November contest?
