Six billion years ago, God created the heavens and the earth. He created a beautiful race of angels to live in the heavens, and a race of mortal humans to live on his favorite planet, Earth.
Sadly, a third of his chosen angles rebelled, led by the greatest among them: Lucifer. Choosing Earth as their battleground, they fought for millennia and millennia, their combat lasting for thousands upon millions of years. Bound by an ancient law of the universe that made it impossible to kill each other, the Angels and Demons fought without taking lives, settling with merely beating the sentience out of each other and waiting for them to heal before doing it again. The Demons, outnumbered and outarmed, slowly lost the battle as their men were driven mad or imprisoned. Finally, after 5,999,990,000 years the battle was won: Every Demon was finally held prisoner in a great jail. Unfortunately, Humankind had been all but wiped out and in the ten decades since has only built a primitive culture, only recently discovering the powers of electricity and complicated sciences.

Then they started to escape. Finding a weakness in the system, the Demons broke loose and have begun to wreak havoc among humankind. Death, destruction, and mayhem. The Angels cannot wage another war without casualties while humans are slaughtered and their planet is destroyed again.
That's where you come in.

Angels can't kill Demons and Demons can't kill angels, but Humans can. A special team of highly talented mercenaries is being assembled by the Angels to finally kill their immortal foes. Armed with the best gear in the universe and given heavenly support, there's no way they could fail.
Unless, you know, they get killed. Then they would fail. You are fighting freaking demons, after all.

I'm mostly just going to play NPCs and also control the universe around you (In other words, I'll be playing God.)
Your job is to play the mercenaries. Your character sheet will look something like this:
Name:
Talent: (IE, Marksman, hand to hand, demolitions, etc.) (It doesn't have to be combat related, but it should have some bearing on helping you kill monsters.)
Short bio:
Description:

You won't have any stats, nor will your opponents. Instead, combat will work by you taking 'Actions.' You say what you want to do, and I tell you how effective it is. What you are talented with will have a bearing on how effective your action is, but you can do whatever you want. (For example, a Marksman could declare he wants to shoot something in the face. He would most likely hit, barring extenuating circumstances. However, if an explosives guy were to try and shoot it in the face, he might end up hitting it in the chest or missing entirely depending on how close the target is.
Your actions will most likely be more effective if you employ creative solutions. Fighting immortal, super-powered beings from different dimensions head on will NEVER be your best choice, whether or not it works.

You can't die, but you can be killed. If you are killed, you will be revived with some form of handicap or another by the angels. There won't be health bars, but I will be keeping track of how you get injured. (If you try and shoot something with your arms broken, for example, that's a definite fail most of the time.)

The Man They Call Jayne

Name: John Abrams.
Talent: Heavy Weapons

Bio: John grew up in a large city, teeming with scum and villiany, all he ever did was fight, and lose. Then, he found his calling, filling a target zone with more lead and high explosives than any one man has a right to do. I could kill IT, but he could kill THEM. . .and maybe several of the people, animals and small structures surrounding them. . .

He was soon picked up by the military and sent out to war with the simple instruction "See that guy? Fuck him and everything near him.". John was more than happy to oblige. With the finest military hardware in his hands, John systematically laid waste to hordes of men and enemy structures. Sometimes even the right ones.

The, the Angels came. . .
