I like the more nonstandard contests. The Memes and such like. It gives us a wider variety of things that people with different talents can join in on.

I've removed five of the options, as they are currently being decided between here.

I've reset the poll, and adjusted down to three votes per person. The four contests that aren't selected for February will be re-entered at the end of the month.

I like the Non-miniature focus contests also, but majority sorta has more authority to ensure we run contests people will actually enter :P Using this thread to help decide the Monthly contests is certainly one step towards that goal ^_^

Narric

Options replaced, and vote per person back up to 4 for now :P Haven't reset, but everyody has the option to change their votes still ;)

Narric

Poll reset for the month. Time to revote for what you want to see.

If something has already been done, it won't be put forward again this year, unless someone makes a really good argument for it ;)

What do people think to a "Props" contest?

I have a Sword that could be a Daemon Blade, and I think the Nerf gunners could try their hands at re-painting their weapons ;)

We could potentially do it for Prop re-paints, Prop mods, and Scratch builds.

visual reference :P
A re-paint would be like this:

While some examples of Prop Mods and Scratch builds could be like this:

What do you guys think? I can throw it into the Poll so people can vote on it :P

[edit]

Just realized I didn't include an option for an Artwork contest. Sorry Artist dudes ^_^;;

*bump*

Recently been considering something to add extra to the contests.

If I started pre-paying £10 E-vouchers/Codes for various Wargame bitz websites, where would people prefer to get their Bitz from?

I'd assume places like Anvil, Zealot, Scibor, Privateer Press, Mantic Games, and Infinity, but there are also smaller/lesser known companies such as Puppets War, Mad Robot Miniatures, Dreamforge Games, Scotia Grendal, Secret Weapon Miniatures and Zinge Industries.

What do people think? Or perhaps I could set it as a £10 voucher/code for a company of the winners choice?

Mabbz

Letting the winner choose the company sounds overly complicated; I'd say stick with the first option of pick a store here and now. Sadly I haven't bought anything from any of those stores (lack of money) so I can't suggest which to go for.

Anvil does fantastic multi-part resin kits, easily comparable in detail to Games Workshop. They're also in the process of producing models specifically for a narrative driven wargame. If you're on the Second Sphere Member group, you'd have seen me sharing the pictures of these models ;)

Zealots own models are equally detailed, whilst they also sell products from other producers. They have a great range of terrain, both for Surface battlefields and dungeon/sewer tunnels. They also have a few nnone wargame specific miscilaineous items, which would make for excellent painting practice pieces.

Mantic specialise in medium to high detailed plastic kits at reasonable prices. they have several unique and different game systems under their belt and are regularly releasing something completely brand new, or a fantastic additon to one of their longer running products.

I unfortunately don't know how good Privateer Press, Infinity, or Dreamforge Games are, so you'd have to ask one of their customers for an opinion :P

Puppets War create and sell highly unique and interesting Resin kits.

Mad Robot Miniatures is the place to go to give your Imperial Guard/human armies a bit of extra flavour and character.

Secret Weapon Miniatures and Zinge Industries offer some excellently detail resin conversion parts.

Scotia Grendal offers a fair number of game systems and the models to play them. I've recent purchased the Rulebook and a Forcebook for Void 1.1, and they're fantastic quality. A large range of older metal models, and newer plastic sets produced for independant companies.

Thats just a general idea I have for each of the companies I mentioned previously ;)
