Huh, this hasn't been posted yet here...
Bell of Lost Souls (http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2014/02/breaking-imperial-knights-rules-rumors.html) has rumored stats for the Imperial Knights that are said to be coming some time in March!
From other sources, I've heard 6 HP, as it isn't mentioned on the link.
Nasty, but are they worth the points? Hard to say.
Not gunna stop me from converting models to represent them for my proxied Space Wolves, though. :)
With luck, my Firebase Support Cadre will be worth the investment. ^ ^
I'm certainly intrigued by the Knights, but I'm worried these will prove more durable than initial estimates.

If they are Super-Heavies, it will let them function at full capacity up until the very last hull point.
One point I've just now started considering is the Catastrophic Damage table that apparently ALL Super-Heavy Vehicles now utilize. It makes destroying an Imperial Knight nearly as damaging as letting it live, if it manages to get close to your front line. :-\
So We'll be expecting this in the next Imperial Guard or Space Marine Codex, right?
That 4+ Invul will be what keeps it alive, as you opponent can simple choose the most threatening flank to the Knight. You'd essentially have to bring units which can surrounding it evenly, and all be able to deal damage reliably.
Awkwardly, I can imagine this thing just swatting Fliers out of the air, which I guess is cool :P
Both the main armaments are Blasts, it won't do jack to Fliers...
Ah, true, but only if the Flyer is Zooming. As soon as that flyer drops to Hover mode, it can be targeted, like any other Skimmer.
Chances are these will have a weapon system for taking out fliers. More than likely not a main weapon, but possibly an upgrade to the Heavy Stubbers.
Hoping your opponent hovers his Flier probably won't work, especially if they're Chaos...
So, they're in a detatchment of their own? Like Forts, Allies, Inquisitors, Lords of War and Dataslates?
Rumor has it they can be taken in two forms: As a detachment, akin to the Inquisitor detachment, with 1-3 Knights, or as a primary detachment, with 3 or more Knights.
I get the feeling that the Knights are GW's attempt to make super-heavies more palatable as they're less game-breaking without D-level guns yet offer a lot of support fire.
Still... I don't know, I have yet to find anyone who wants to play with escalation every battle...
Best,

They strike me as a sort of a "mea culpa" to Imperial players for all the MCs jumping and flying around, smashing poor baby walkers like Dreadnoughts to pieces. Now theirs are bigger, have bigger guns, are vehicles, and are still more durable than an MC, smash those uppity MCs like Riptides to pieces while handing hordes their ass in CQC, and cost an arm in points and a leg in pounds.
Imperial players already have access to brutal flyers that can deal serious damage for very few points. They don't NEED superheavy walkers on top of that.
So? :P Gotta make sure humanity has the coolest toys, regardles of races like Necrons and Eldar being incomprehensibly older and more advanced.
I wouldn't call Crons or Eldar weak, though.
These Knights aren't really all that scary, and the new IG Codex will probably change a lot of their dynamics. GW will almost definitely nerf the Vendetta.
Id call it balancing the Vendetta is one of the most broken units in the game.
Whatever you call it, the result is the same. They'll probably de-Squadron it and bump the points cost up, maybe take away the Transport ability and save that for the Vanilla Valkyrie.
If it was a dedicated gunship I wouldnt mind so much.
I personally prefer the Valkyrie over the Vendetta anyway. For the same price, I get two Large Blasts i can use every turn, and only need to pay 15pts for a Lascannon for tougher targets.
I always thought they were just filling space by seperating the two fliers. They're basically a Land Speeders on Roids in my eyes, and so could easily have been written similarly.
I love it :D im getting one and its gonna take me 3 years to paint :P

First thing that I notice is the Heavy Stubber stats are different to the rulebook.... Its only some AP, but that still sorta bugs me...
More costly than a Land Raider. That IOnvul Save makes it slightly on par off the top of my head for survivability. Anyone good at Math-hammer to figure out if they're comparable?
Where is the rule for Invincible Behemoth? Is that an Apocalypse rule?
One thing that seems increadibly off is the fact that thePaladin has far more than 5pts of extra stuff when compared to the Errant. Raises the question of whats the point of the Errant.
Awesome model, so tempted to get a few even though I don't think they seem that competitive!

You can just make out in the blurred text besides, it says they can be found in apoc and escalation.
Ohh... Not sure whether I'd prefer the Rapid fire battle cannon on the paladin or the Themal cannon on the knight... Both could be very fun to play with!
I have decided that I'm going to save up for one, and paint it in House Baratheon colours, because Ours' Is The Fury!

Throw in a red highlight or two, and it can double as an Angry Knight. have a magnetized "Ass-Stompin' Power Boot" for flair. :P
Usually im not so keen on the large mega minis GW is coming out with lately, but they have just got this one looking so right! Whats not to love.
Its a fluffy unit which has been around for decades, desperately required a mini, harkens back to the old Epic Knights style, but has been updated it to bring it into the recent more modern detailed style ;D
I really want to play a game of Adeptus Titanicus in 40k scale now xD
(http://cf.geekdo-images.com/images/pic804395_md.jpg)
It looks great. I just still don't agree with SD in 40k games. This thing gets anywhere near a Land Raider, Monoltih, anything that is supposed to be hard to kill, that you are paying good points to be hard to kill, and this thing just eats it.
Although I am unsure why it needs Smash. As a superheavy it's attacks ignore armour anyway, and it is already S10. And thats only is that Reapersword gets blown off.
Weapons can no longer be destroyed on Super Heavy Vehicles, actually.
Smash is there because all Super-Heavy Walkers get the rule, not because this model happens to benefit from it. A monstrous creature with wargear that grants all the benefits of Smash will still be granted the rule from its monstrous creature type.
The thing that is really going to disrupt play is this thing's Death throes. It uses a 15" template, and it scatters. Oh, that template has a Str D AP 2 Large Blast in it, by the way. Also, 5/6 of the time, the next 5" of diameter is at least Str 8 (sometimes 10) and AP 3. If that thing gets into your lines, you can end up hitting yourself with a 5" D blast when you kill it.
That model makes me wish I had enough money to get one...
No Tim, NO! The money you made selling your Eldar is going into Emperor's Chilren remember? ..... well, I could have a traitor knight
Like a number of these large models and flyers, these don't belong in 40K in my opinion. They're too large for the game. They're a unit for Epic, where they fit the scale. While the models are okay, they're not overly impressive either.

They are not overly impressive? What do you want from a miniature? O_o
I think these are the best plastic kit from any company for a long while :D I just hope the price is not too out there...
It looks like a pale shadow of the original Epic Warlord Titan scaled up for 40K. That's not enough to impress me, but as I say, such models are never likely to for the reasons that I have given above ;).
Is it bad I want two of those for a diorama?
