++++++ Unit 52 Barracks and Sector HQ Roof ++++++
+++ Time: 47 minutes to sunset +++
+++ Destination: Sector 52 North Boarder District +++
+++ Mission Designation: Purge the Heretics +++

The wind whipped past the squad as they climbed onto the roof of the Sector 52 Unit building. Sergeant Ren was at the front, heading directly for the Corvus Assault Carrier, the crew of which was finishing their final checks for flight. He stood to one side of the rear access hatch as the squad climbed in and buckled up.

Trailing slightly at the back was Officer Jeff. A young face, or as some higher ups said "Fresh meat for the grinder."
"Step lively now Officer" Ren barked. Jeff hustled into the carrier, and quickly seated himself. Sergeant Ren stepped in last, and activated a communications panel as he closed the hatch. "All Officers embarked, we are go for flight."

The Carrier lurch upwards as the thrusters were brought to full power. The engines roared, and the seating shook violently. After 10 minutes of flight and silence, Sergeant Ren began the breifng.
"We're heading to the boarder districts of Sector 52. One of our informants has gone silent, but before that they gave us a time and location of a heretic group, who will be meeting this evening. We now they're lightly armed, but they will have numbers against us, so ensure your shots will do some damage." Ren paused. "No heretic is to leave the location alive, but we are going to want to see if they're part of a larger group, so keep an eye out for any evidence that can lead us to a bigger target."

Reaching up, Ren activated a holographic projector. Green wireframe constructs appeared before the squad, showing the location.
"There is only one point of access to the location. The front door. No windows, no ventilation, no backdoors. We're going in gunning, and sorting out the mess afterwards." Ren paused again, jesturing within the projection. "The main room is an octogon, with two rooms on the opposite side to the main door. It been setup as a church of sorts, so use the benches as cover." Ren de-activated the projector.

Mabbz

"Right here's the plan."

"Knight will bust down the doors and attempt to suppress any hostiles. Jax and Wolf, you'll move in next and take cover behind the benches; Jax to the left and Wolf to the right. While you're providing covering fire Jeff, Ace and myself will advance from bench to bench down the aisle to flush them out of any cover. King, you're on overwatch. Stay at the door and take out any enemies that are stupid enough to leave themselves exposed. Keep an eye on those far doors."

"Once the main room is clear, Jeff and Wolf can take up defensive positions kill anyone that comes through one door while the rest of us deal with the other room. Rinse and repeat. Questions?"

InsaneTD

"Can we get that floor plan back up Ren? I want to get a good look at it."

The Man They Call Jayne

"Easy enough."

King went over the final checks on his weapon. He may be a bit of a loose cannon, but he wasn't stupid.

"I suggest making as big an entrance as possible and quickly as possible though, it will shock them for a few seconds, making our job easier."

Jeff looked up from re-checking his weapon (again) and hesitantly raised his voice.

"Er, sir, is there a possibility of our informant being in the target area and if so, do we have a ... code or something to recognise them?"

Sergeant Ren reached forward to reactivate the holo-projector. The machine was already warm, so the location model booted up quickly.

Spoiler

"You raise a good point Jeff." Ren started. "Protocol dictates we assume the Informant was discovered and killed. In the event they're not discovered before we our arrival, they're also trained to be convincing in a fight, but not lethal to us. Either they'll be firing wildly to induce panic, or more likely they're dead."

The Man They Call Jayne

"I suggest a breaching charge and flash grenades here and here."

King pointed out two points on the map that would be the best targets.

"Of course, if nobody has any of those, shotguns against the door at close range. Or I could do it."

"An excellent suggestion King, with just two minor drawbacks: one, we don't have breaching charges and two, we don't have flashbangs. I really wish the higher ups would give us full kit some day. I was thinking that Knight could shotgun the lock and then just kick the damn thing open."

The Man They Call Jayne

"Bloody brass. One day we will actually be able to do our jobs. Still. . .LET'S DO THIS!"

Knight grinned, chuckling in a low, gruff tone and stepping to the door. Raising his shotgun to point at the lock, he paused and looked up at Ren, gesturing with his free arm and waiting for a nod of authorization to go.

++++++ Sector 52 North Boarder District ++++++
+++ Time: 3 minutes to sunset +++

The Corvus lurched from the winds billowing around the sector Boarder gap. Two miles seperated each sctor with a 50 mile drop. Only pipes and a few enclosed bridges crossing the void-like gap. The carrier lurched as it set down on the roof of the adjacent building. a narrow balcony like walkway ran down the side of the building, and towards the "Church."

The Squad disembarked the transport, and began down towards the church with weapons ready. They quickly ordered themselves according to Ren's plan. As positioned themselves outside, they could hear a sermon in progress..

"Children, tonight is the night ruin shall begin!" An authoritive voice boomed from within. Wofl quickly activated a recorder in his gear to capture the "Sermon" as evidence. The Government has nought but deaf ears to those that suffer, and their reign has lasted long enough. Tonight, we and our brethran shall claim this world in the name of the true lord of all! May his blessings reach you all!...."

The sermon continued, sounding like mad gibberish as the Leader spoke of fur and tails and the pestilence that they would bring. Knight positioned himself in the middle of the double doors. Raising from his crouched position, he lifted his foot up and kicked sharply at the lock of the door.

"Lets do this!" Knight yelled, the old wood splintering easily.

At the Altar a Man stood tall, staring directly at the door. In front of him stood or crouched a handfull of men and woman. They were staring at the Leader, but soon started turning around, an revealing advanced Pulse Rifles.....

"Oh Shit!" Knight Whispered to himself, jumping for cover behind a Pew.

So, this was it. Not even live-fire exercises against drones had ever quite mimicked the emotions Bibby had, mainly to do with not letting his team down. Mentally, he reviewed everything Instructor Riaz had told him about a Hostile Entry. Suddenly the door was kicked in and the stacks moved up. Unconsciously, partly for reassurance, Jeff flicked his thumb upward, making sure his shotgun's safety was off. Now all he needed was confirmation that the cover teams were in place and it was time to move in and go loud.

Wolf swore as he spotted the pulse rifles. Just what they need.

The Man They Call Jayne

There was a high pitched whine in the background as Kings Heat Rifle powered up. He put his back up against the wall and took aim around the door frame.

"Guys! This is King, hit the deck!"

He spoke loudly into the comms system connecting him to the other team members.

As he saw them start to drop he held down the trigger on his rifle and swept the beam across the armed heretics. It wouldn't definitely kill then, but they would either get down too, or take severe burn which would slow them down.

That sounded like an unofficial go code to officer Bibby. Rounding King, he dashed in at the crouch, away from the direction of sweep and darted for cover, his gun trained on the perps.
