Looks like it could be fun, but there's not really enough information yet to say for sure. Still, who's up for a forum RP when they release it?
I'm game for that. :) I like d100 so that's a shame, but d6 systems can work well to.

Darn, that's a shame. Still, sadly these things can't be helped. Here's hoping things calm down a bit for you soon bud. :)

"Roran Horst, smith on a hive world. I was drafted to an Inquisitor about 10 years ago, trained with just about every weapon there is, including modifying them. Whatever you need, odds are I can build it if I've got the materials."

"I don't doubt their usefulness, Lucius" growled Roran, "but I've seen too many get killed because of them to be completely comfortable, and not just from rhe Inquisition."

"You misunderstand my meaning" Roran smiled. "By worse I meant have worse names for me, not literally as a title."

"As for the mission, you know how the Inquisition works. Secrets and lies until there's no option but the truth. We get the details as they come, but don't expect the whole story." He finished with a shrug and open gesture to indicate his lack of concern about the smoking.

A curt nod also greeting the smiling stranger as he entered the room. "Name's Roran, though I daresay most call me worse." he replied. "As for why we're here, we've been hired, contracted, or otherwise brought into service to do the Inquisition's bidding. What that includes today, your guess is as good as mine." he shrugged.

Roran strode into the room, clearly fresh from forging something. His overalls were covered in soot and he had a couple of fresh minor burns. His hammer was strapped to his waist and his steel-capped boots thudded on the metal flooring as he approached.

He entered the room and sat down with a curt nod to the uniformed man who had elected to stand. "Suit yourself" he thought as he lifted his boots on to the desk and made himself comfortable. No point standing to attention for an empty room.

I approve of Roran. I need to reread those books.
Apparently he's working on a new one, but I don't really see how given how the last one ended.

Also, I probably shouldn't have started this so close to mine and my girlfriends birthdays. The start will be a little more delayed by real life.
Eh, I wouldn't worry too much. Gives us time to look everything over and make sure we're happy with our characters. :)

Thank you. Those are better words than sanity. I think I'll go with fortitude.
No problem. :)

Name: Roran Horst
Age: Early-mid 30s
Gender: Male
Background: Roran started as a smith apprentice in one of the lower hives of his homeworld, it was that or join a gang and he had no interest in robbing old women. He developed a talent for the forge and soon could make pretty much anything people asked for, armour, blades, trinkets, though he made a point of not selling to the gangs he'd refused to join. This caused no shortage of problems and he soon learned that a blacksmith's hammer is a very handy thing to have in a fight. In his early 20s he was involved in such a fight, and almost killed, but was spared by the intervention of an Inquisitor who was impressed with his combat skill. After spending several weeks in the medicae, Roran was conscripted to the Inquisitor's retinue. The scars he suffered caused him to lose much of his previous good humour and left him with a vicious temper, but the Inquisitor seemed unconcerned. Officially his post was armourer, but he was also trained in all forms of combat "just in case" as the Inquisitor used to say., though he always preferred his hammer. When the Inquisitor died 10 years later Roran wasn't sure what to do next, then along came another Inquisitor...

Strength   Co-ordination   Intelligence   Endurance   Sanity   Willpower   Charisma
   8                 6                     5                7              6            5                3

You name it, I can make it: Over the years Roran has had to make everything from necklaces and rings, to knives and armour and even oversee construction of barricades. He prefers to work with metal however he can work with other materials, though this may cause results to vary.

Weak point: After years of making armour Roran can spot the weak link in most conventional armours which, combined with his considerable strength, makes him a formidable opponent in melee though he'll be the first to admit that the knack is considerably trickier at range.

Stormtrooper training: Roran spent about a decade (hard to tell with all the warp travel) working with the previous Inquisitor who insisted all his staff, even psykers and brainiacs (as he called his Adepts) were at least competent in a wide range of weapons. While he'll never be a dedicated heavy or special weapon user he can at least use them without melting his own face off or falling over from the recoil.

Ah, I've missed these battle reports. Good to the Dark Eldar back where they belong and that they're doing so well too. Can't wait to get my hands on them and see what I can do to resurrect my old list.

I'll get my character for this written up tomorrow when I can put a bit more time into doing it properly. :)

Also, Mabbz I think for Sanity you possibly meant Composure or possibly Fortitude as you describe it being used to avoid panic and the like

"Well doc, this crew's the best there is. If we don't know what we're doing then anybody else is truly lost. I'll happily listen to any other ideas, but I'm struggling to think of any. Our weapons won't even tickle a monstrosity like that." Jonathan replied.

"Duly noted, but if we're getting out of here we're going to need the FTL. We don't know what that thing is capable of or if it brought friends." Jonathan replied.

"Ok, let's move people!" he yelled "I don't know what they think they're going to achieve but if they think they're stopping us they're very much mistaken!" before turning back to his seat and scanning the screen for any other vessels.

"I wouldn't worry too much, he just takes his job seriously, that's all." Jonathan replied reassuringly. "He's meticulous and knows we're departing soon so he wants to check things over. Under the circumstances I can't say I blame him, I went over everything myself more than normal just to make absolutely sure."
